In this post, I'll show you 3 photo poster designs that I made in Alight Motion. One is black and white, and two are in colour. They look different, but all three are built the same way: a background, a circle or frame, flowers, the person PNG in the middle, and text on top. The edit was easy for me, but placing the background elements in the right spots took a long time. I'll go through each poster layer by layer, so you can make your own.
You need the Alight Motion app, one good quality photo of a person for each poster, and free fonts (one bold or script font, and one clean font). You also need free PNGs like flowers, clouds, hearts, butterflies, and textures.
The main step: the person PNG
In every poster, the person PNG is the most important layer. If the cutout is bad, the whole poster looks bad.
- Pick a clear, sharp photo. I used only good quality photos, and the posters looked much better.
- Remove the background with PhotoRoom and save the person as a PNG.
- Import the PNG into Alight Motion and place it in the center.
- Zoom in on the edges and check that the cutout looks clean.
Poster 1: Black and white elegant poster
This poster has a red background and a black and white person. The layers, from bottom to top:
- Red background: a red rectangle with a red texture image above it.
- Person PNG: I added the person twice. The lower copy gives a soft glow around the person.
- Black and white look: select the person layers, go to Effects, then Color and Light, and set Saturation and Vibrance to -100%. The red background stays in colour.
- Three small photos: eyes, a face with a flower, and the back of the head. Add an orange outline rectangle above each photo as a border. I tilted the eyes photo a little.
- Text: "ELEGANT" in a bold font, "Beauty" in a script font over it, a thin spaced line at the top ("Calm, and Effortlessly"), a four-line caption on the left, a vertical watermark on the right, and the name at the bottom right in two lines.
Poster 2: Blooming flowers frame
This poster has a brown background, and the person is in colour. The layers, from bottom to top:
- Brown rectangle for the full frame.
- Grey texture layer above it, so the background is not flat.
- Pink-beige rectangle for the paper panel in the middle.
- Panel texture: a texture inside a Group and Mask, so it stays inside the panel.
- Dark maroon circle in the center of the panel.
- Daisy PNGs behind the person.
- Person PNG in colour, inside the circle.
- Front daisy PNG on the right, in front of the person.
- Clouds at the bottom, over the lower edge of the person.
- Orange flower on the bottom left (I added it twice).
- Butterflies near the name and the circle.
- Hearts at the top right.
- Text: the name in a big script font (I added it twice for depth), "Blooming Beauty..!!" below it, a vertical line on the left, and a small watermark.
Poster 3: Floral circle poster
This poster has a peach background and a torn paper edge. The person is in colour. The layers, from bottom to top:
- Peach rectangle for the full frame.
- Dark brown rectangle on the lower half.
- Grey texture layers above it, for the torn paper look.
- Dark red circle in the center.
- Flower PNGs behind the head: a big bouquet and a smaller flower layer.
- Line art and sparkle layers: lotus line art at the top left and bottom right, and a light dot overlay.
- Black oval under the person at low opacity, for a soft shadow.
- Person PNG in colour, over the circle and the torn edge.
- Sparkle overlay on top of the person.
- Text: the name in big bold letters at the top right, a short line below it, a vertical line on the left, and a watermark.
Tips from my edit
The editing was easy, but it took me a lot of time to place the background elements in the right spots. Move each flower or frame a little at a time, and check the whole poster after each move. Use only good quality photos, because they make the poster look much better.
Use it for birthday wishes
You can make this edit for a person you like, or use it as a birthday wishes photo frame. It looks really beautiful. Change the name, photo, and colours, and it becomes your own poster.
A note on photos, fonts, and PNGs
Only use photos of people who have agreed to it. Use fonts, PNGs, and textures only from sources that allow free use.
Final thoughts
Once you know how the layers stack, you can make any poster you like. Start with the person PNG, add the background and flowers, and finish with the text. If you have any doubts, leave a comment and I'll help.
